PHOTOGRAPHY 1: ABSTRACT BUBBLES

(5 EDITED IMAGES): DUE SEPTEMBER 3

20 POINTS

Much like Kim Keever, we will be painting with water to create our own works of art. Do not forget to utilize our elements of art. This photoshoot is designed for you to explore our class motto, what if? Use this time to play around with different color combinations, textures and compositions in your cameras.

What we will use:

  • water

  • olive oil

  • food coloring

  • Heavy whipping cream

  • colorful paper

  • Phone Camera App (don’t worry, we will get to the DSLR cameras soon!)

Each of you will be given you own clear plate with a thin coat of oil. On every table there will be cups and pipettes with different colors added in. Use the colored water to thoughtfully place “bubbles” on to your oil plate. Start off small then start to explore with different colors, stirring up the plate or even adding in the heavy cream for a different consistency.

What you will turn in:

  • 5 edited JPG images using Lightroom

  • A Google Drive Folder with all of the un edited images you took

Each image must be labeled: Bubbles_yourinitials_0001.jpg

Soon the camera settings will become second nature to you!
